A DAY after Indian Army chief General Deepak Kapoor warned of the possibility of another 26/11 like attack in the country, the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has made startling disclosures confirming the likelihood of such occurrences.

In fact the FBI has disclosed that two Lashkar operatives arrested in the United States were planning a major strike in India. The National Defence College of the armed forces was the likely target of the terror group, it has been revealed.

FBI investigation has revealed that arrested duo were also planning an attack on a Danish newspaper, which had printed controversial images of Prophet Mohammed. The two identified as David Coleman Headley and Tahawwur Hussain Rana were arrested by FBI on charges after they were discussing plans to operationalise attack in both India and Denmark.

Both Rana and Headly were caught on tape discussing the likely targets and mentioned the National Defence College twice in their talks on September 7.

According to the FBI, LeT was giving primacy to the attack on National Defence College in India over other targets. The investigating agency has also refuted the contention of Rana that he was duped by Headly and was not aware of the controversial nature of the talks.

It is pertinent to mention that the Indian Army chief had said yesterday that an attack on the lines of Mumbai could take place as a large number of terror camps are operating in Pakistan and entire South Asia. He said that entire region was infested with terror groups and the nation needs to unite to battle these threats.
