After BCCI, KCA warns Sreesanth against indiscipline
KCA has warned Sreesanth against indisciplinary on field activities, after the right arm bowler showed up for a conditioning camp, held after the Challenger series for the Kerala Ranji team, thirteen days late.

KNOWN FOR his infamous on field behaviour, Indian fast bowler S Sreesanth got a warning from the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA), for his indiscipline at a special meeting in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday, October 25.

The KCA in its statement to media said, Sreesanth, the captain of the Kerala Ranji cricket team, has been repeatedly violating team discipline. He has also stayed away from the ongoing conditioning camp. While addressing reporters after the meeting, KCA secretary TC Mathew said, a last chance was being given to Sreesanth to mend his ways.

“The KCA is supporting Sreesanth, despite his repeated breach of discipline because, he is the only Keralaite international player and hence it was an unanimous decision today that we will give him one more chance,” said Mathews.

The Kerala team was holding its final conditioning camp at Tellichery in North Kerala from Oct 12, ahead of the Ranji season and Sreesanth reported for the camp only on Sunday morning, October 25, informed Matthews.

"We expected him to join the camp after the Challenger Series which ended on Oct 11. His mother called me to say that he is going to Sabarimala and therefore he will report on October 18. I tried to call him but he was not reachable. Then he called me and said he wanted leave to attend the marriage of Krisnamachari Srikanth's (chairman of selectors) son. I gave him permission with the condition that he should report at the camp,” said Mathews.

Further, Matthews said, “Even then he did not report and sent a mail that he would join on October 27. Then we decided that enough is enough, and asked him to report on October 23. He still did not show up. We had a chat and finally he reported today.”

Meanwhile, Sreesanth, whose track record in international cricket has been punctuated by incidents of indiscipline, said “I informed about my absence. I don’t know who is against me.”

Since his entry into the international cricket, Sreesanth has been in news due to wrong reasons and for alleged indifferent on-field activities like making faces, silly comments, etc. Last year, the right-arm bowler was slapped by off-spinner Harbhajan Singh during an IPL match. Recently, the BCCI also suggested him to change his behaviour and warned him as well. After a long injury, Sreesanth made a come back in IPL season two.

The only renowned cricketer from Kerala, Sreesanth should change his attitude to cement a place in the team India. All know very well he is a quality bowler and he is capable of generating pace. If Sreesanth concentrates on his game, very soon we can surely hope a comeback for him in team India.
