After beating Olympic Champion, Sindhu instills hope in Indian camp
Pusarla Venkata Sindhu has created a stir in world badminton after she defeated Li Xuerui during the China Masters. A confident player, Sindhu looks like a perfect world-class product.

PUSARLA VENKATA Sindhu recently made headlines after defeating Li Xuerui of China by 21-19, 9-21 and 21-16 in a 45-minute-long match in the ongoing China Masters Super Series. The victory looks even more special, as Li Xuerui had won gold in the recently concluded London Olympics.

Sports have always been in her blood, as both her mother and father are former volleyball players. Though, it sounds surprising that the girl chose badminton over volleyball, but according to IBN LIVE, Sindhu draws inspiration from the former 2001 All England Badminton Champion, Pullela Gopicahand.

In comparison to the height and weight of the former and present women badminton players, such as Saina Nehwal and Arpana Popat, she is tall (5 ft 10 inches) and looks very strong. She is soon going to break the myth – Indian sportspersons are not well built.

The badminton player has all the ingredients to become a top player. She is very determined and gives it her all during practice sessions and is also eager to learn the tricks of the trade. She normally has to travel for more than 50 kms to reach the camp. This talks volumes about her commitment towards the sport. At various junior level competitions, she has been doing well, but it is time for her to prove herself while playing against the best of the best in the business.

Presently she is under the safe hands at the Gopichand's Academy in Hyderabad, which has been a training ground of top badminton players. She has a long way to go and needs to be properly groomed. Defeating such a player at such an early age is not an easy task. The girl, if trained properly, has the ingredients to become a world-class product.
