SUPPORT FOR the Jan Lokpal Bill has become almost pan-Indian. The Hindi film industry has been supporting Anna ever since he first launched his anti-corruption agitation in April. Now, the Tamil film fraternity, colloquially known as Kollywood, has voiced its support to encourage Anna in his bid to force the government to formulate and pass the Jan Lokpal Bill.

Well-known actor Kamal hasan is the first one from the industry who who came forward in support of Anna, and after that, actor-turned-politician Sarat Kumar, with a few other actors, have stepped out in Tamil Nadu to stand behind Anna's push to give the nation a strong anti-corruption bill. They all are coming forward with the hope that the government, someday, will wake up and change our country for good.

The South's biggest actor, Hasan, who is considered to be the “Baap” of Kollywood, came out with his support with a huge fan following to support anna with a lot of zeal. While addressing people he said, "I am very happy that we have a very able and dedicated leader in Anna Hazare to lead us in this fight against corruption.

This kind of peaceful movement is possible only in India which is the birthplace of Satyagraha,” he said. “I congratulate all the Indians who have lent their support to this bloodless revolution. I am very proud to be an Indian,” he told a reputed news outlet.

Meanwhile, Sandalwood, the name given to the Kannada film industry, is also with Anna. Kannada actor Shivaraj communicated his full support to Anna. He has decided to begin his protest at Freedom Park, Bengaluru, to support Anna. He said, “Many people have given their lives for this nation; I too would be honoured to give mine.”

Shivaraj attired like Gandhiji, while protesting, said Anna is a “second Gandhi,” and this protest is the “second freedom fight”. He further added that the fire of protest should not be bound to few cities or states but should be spread to each and every corner of the nation and every Indian abroad.

The queen of Sandalwood, Ramya, along with singer chitra and actor Ramesh Arvind, too, voiced support for Anna using different social networking sites.
