After Ramzan people of Nagpur feast on non-veg delicacies

Chicken Tikka, Chicken Fry, Mutton Biryani and many more non-vegetarian spicy delicious food items were out of menu for a month for many. As the holy month of Shravana ended on Saturday, meat-lovers in the Orange City, Nagpur, grabbed these mouth-watering dishes on 'Padwa' (the next day) and celebrated 'delicious' Sunday.

THE CROWD of meat-lovers at butcher shops reflected eagerness to have that spicy food on a platter. Butchers were aware that it would be a busy Sunday for them. Hence, they tagged their stock and opened shops early morning.

Asif Khan, a butcher from Mahal market said, "Many meat-lovers were aware that on Sunday they have to wait for long. Hence, many ordered meat in advance. I started my work at 5.30 am." Another butcher Rama Bhai from Sakkardara said, "I have opened shop early and have dispatched 60 parcels. Mutton and Desi chicken are the most sought-after things." Vijay Koche, owner of New Chicken Shop from Gokulpeth, told The Hitavada newspaper that Saturday was not that busy but Sunday was too busy to have even lunch. He said, "I was so busy that I could not even have lunch. It was more important to meet customers' expectations because they were waiting for this day since one month."

Haribhau Wakode said that providing best quality mutton was his speciality. Therefore, meat-lovers placed their orders. When The Hitavada talked to some of the buyers, they seemed more enthusiastic. Nandkishore Kanerkar, a resident of Sakkardara said, "It is a Sunday treat. Special menu dished out by better-half enhances the joy of off-day." Aditya Kantode said that he had planned out special dinner at his favourite restaurant with family and it would be strictly a non-vegetarian one for all as all in the family were meat-lovers.

A group of youngsters Hemant Ilme, Lalit Kharat, Sumit Borkar, and Pankaj Borkar landed at their favourite restaurant in Shankar Nagar on Sunday evening to enjoy exotic non-vegetarian dishes. The youngsters in the group said that they were not allowed to eat non-vegetarian food at home and hence had come out to enjoy Sunday with friends, food, and fun. The Sunday after a month's wait proved to be Sundae Treat for all meat-lovers and meat-sellers in the city. All meat-shops saw 50 to 60 per cent more business on Sunday than they did in last month. Foodie Nagpurians enjoyed a 'yummy' start of new season on 'Padwa'.
