AGREED Foundation celebrates World Environment Day as Awareness Day
AGREED Foundation, an NGO committed for the development of education and environment, celebrated World Environment Day 2013 as Awareness Day.

On this occasion, the ornamental flower plants were planted at campuses of various government girls’ schools. Dr. Satinder Singh, President, Agreed Foundation, said. “The Foundation is celebrating the Environment Day as Awareness Day for the last four years. This year 100 bowls were distributed to the people for keeping feed and water for the birds, and there is a need to celebrate Environment Day every day.”

Gurcharan Singh, Vice Presdient, Lalit Kumar and Mohinder Singh, members of the organization, said, “5th June is celebrated as Environment Day since 1973 throughout the world and this year the theme given is Think, Eat and Save.”

They further said every year foodgrains worth about 130 crore rupees is damaged whereas every 7th person in the world sleeps on empty stomach. The government should make scientific storage arrangements to save the damage to foodgrains.

Inderjpal Singh, Komal Arora, principal, Sukhdev Singh Brar, Meena Kumar, Paramveer Sharma, Pritam Singh, Deepak Sharma,Kamal Sharma, Dr. Teja Sing, Principal, Dinesh Sharma, Baljinder Singh, Asstt. Education Officer (sports) were also present on the occasion. The special cooperation was extended by Vijay Victor, an environment lover and his team.
