Ahimsa and Kshamapana Day Celebrations to be held at Claremont Lincoln University
Ahimsa and Kshamapana Day celebrations are going to be held on October 2 at Claremont Lincoln University, US on the occasion of the International Day of Non-violence adopted by United Nations, informed Sulekh C. Jain, who is associated with Jain Associations in North America (JAINA) - an umbrella organization of local Jain associations in the United States and Canada.

ACCORDING TO JAINA website, this year, Claremont Lincoln University, Jain Studies program, International School for Jain Studies, JAINA and Jain Center of Southern California have decided to celebrate together October 2 , 2012 as Ahimsa and Forgiveness Day, which also happens to fall immediately after Paryushan and Das Laxan Parvas this year.

Calling it is a unique and historic occasion when the two events are close by; Jain has urged the Jain Centers and Jains throughout the world to plan some similar celebrations to suit their local circumstances and environment.

Here is the Jain ‘Kshamapana Sutra’ with meaning

- Khaamemi savve jeeva: I grant forgiveness to all living beings

- Savve jeeva khamantu me: May all living beings grant me forgiveness

- Metti me savve bhuyesu: My friendship is with all living beings

- Vairam majham na kenai: My enemy is totally non-existent
