AIB video row: Lata Mangeshkar asks 'who is Tanmay Bhat'?
The video shared by stand-up comedian and co-founder of "All India Bakchod (AIB)" Tanmay Bhat, wherein he has allegedly disrespected veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar and legendary Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar, created a storm on Monday, with the involvement of legal experts. BJP and MNS party leaders and celebrities have also criticised it widely.

The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police, while BJP legislator Ashish Shelar met the Police Commissioner for the same. The celebrities also took to their social media accounts to express their views on this entire issue with some finding it absurd.

Meanwhile, ace singer Lata Mangeshkar too have spoken about the video. Mangeshkar, in an interview to Spotboye said, "I have not seen the video, neither do I have any inclination to do so. I will not comment about it. By the way, I don't know who is Tanmay Bhat." However, people close to her say that she is highly upset and aghast to see that she was targeted.

The Special Branch of the Mumbai Police has requested Google and YouTube to delete the video. It has also removed more than 200 posts to ensure that law and order situation doesn't get affected. The video from YouTube has been removed.

Moreover, the video has been shared with the legal unit of the Mumbai Police. The team is verifying whether it draws any cognizable offense under provisions of the 'Information Technology (IT) Act' or not (since it was shared on Snapchat and Facebook). However, views of the legal team are yet to come.

According to sources, non-cognizable offense under Section 500 of the IPC can be registered against Bhat. In the meantime, senior counsel Harish Salve told TOI, "Police machinery, law and the courts are not the answer to every problem in society. Such persons deserve social condemnation for them to realise what they are doling out is unacceptable rubbish masquerading as humour."

Comedian Bhat used an app called Face Swap, that let users borrow another person's face to create the video called 'Sachin v/s Lata Civil War.' Then, he shared this on his social networking accounts and since then he has been receiving all sorts of backlash from Sachin and Lata Mangeshkar's fans, who treat them nothing less than the god.

In the video, the representational characters of Mangeshkar and Tendulkar can be seen having what seems to be an unpleasant chat. While imitating Mangeshkar, Bhat said that cricketer Virat Kohli was better than Tendulkar. The comedian on this retort to the ace singer said, "You are 5,000 years old..." while playing out the character of Tendulkar. This has enraged admirers of both the singer and the cricketer.

Now, what seems to be a reaction over the same controversy, Bhat wrote on his twitter account, "Roast wale din yaad aa gaye by god". Well, this is not the first time the AIB comedian has faced such wrath of the social media users. He recently sparked outrage by posting a YouTube video on May 20 on the necessity of feminism.

Last year in January 2015, he attracted backlash after being a part of the 'AIB Knockout Roast. The show involved Bollywood actors such as Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, who got entangled into a full-fledged argument for perpetrating "obscenity".
