In the last phase of campaigning, Makan appealed to the people to vote for Ritika Mukhi from Jugsalai assembly seat and Banna Gupta from Jamshedpur West assembly seat for the assembly elections due on November 25.
 
Being the Union State Home Minister, Makan, addressed issues like acute corruption in the state, women empowerment, law and order and importance of a stable government. The Congress with campaigners like Dr Ajay Kumar, former superintendent of police Jamshedpur and now Makan seems to be stressing on the law and order, and corruption.

 
“If a Congress government is formed in Jharkhand, we will ensure that we prosecute corrupt leaders and ensure that all the money that has been laundered by some selfish politicians is brought back to the state for its development,” said Makan.
 
He also added that an independent candidate is always in a habit to misuse his powers for his own interests. Hence, candidates like Banna Gupta and Ritika Mukhi from a responsible party like the Congress have a motto for the all round development of the state unlike some independent candidates. 
 
In the meet, Congress leaders reminded the people that it was the proactive attitude of Ajay Makan that the state was saved form the insensitivity and egotism of the Koda government.
 
“When I was the state in charge of the Congress, I challenged the Koda government on issues like distribution and utilisation of funds, development index of the state and corruption levels. Hence, it is time that people vote for contesting candidates of the Congress who are being supported leaders like Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi and dynamic youth icon Rahul Gandhi to bring a change in the state,” he added.
 
Makan pledges that the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) and Congress alliance will definitely fulfill the dreams and aspirations of Jharkhand if they are elected to power. After campaigning in Jamshedpur in Sonari and Parsudhi he will campaign for other JVM-Congress candidates in the state.
