Akshay Kumar and Sajid Khan leave the house in splits
Deepika Padukone, who had been missing from the award functions for a long time now, compensated for it all when she performed to tracks like 'Adhoore' and 'Oh Girl You Are Mine' from her films Break Ke Baad and Housefull.
JOINING THE list of ever increasing award shows, Zee Cine Awards 2011 was the one to be the latest. The award ceremony saw the who's who of Bollywood sashaying down the red carpet. Although, Salman was missing from the show, Shah Rukh Khan kept the show on by entertaining the audience with his jokes and gigs. The hosts of the evening were Sajid Khan and Akshay Kumar who brought the house down with their one liners and jokes. Their target, Chunky Pandey was at the receiving end of it, although everything was in good humour. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan enthralled the audience with her performence on a medley of tracks from her films like Robot and Raavan. Despite of being unwell , the actress was in her full spirits and reportedly attended all the rehearsals. Kudos to your undying spirit Ash..!!

A special award was given to the 'Golden Couple' of 90’s, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. In an ode to pay tribute to their work, the participants from Dance India Dance performed to songs like “ek mai aur ek tu” and “humne tumko dekha”. The participants reminded one of the 90’s era in their colourful getup.
Another highlight of the event was Priyanka Chopra’s mimicry of some popular films of 2010. As she danced away to the tune of Dabbang she looked quite convincing as the Lady Chulbul Pandey..!!
Then she donned the complete getup of Kareena Kapoor, as she danced away to the title song of Golmaal-3 and even pulled off a fast one at Tushar Kapoor’s dumb style of speaking in the film. Once Upon A Time In Mumbai was not far behind, and PC looked quite cute in the getup of bell bottoms and glares, as Emraan’s character in the film. The highlight of the performence was her mimicry of Shah Rukh Khan’s character Rizwan Khan from the film My Name Is Khan.
The jumping high up in air was an effort to try and make all actors and actresses jump after receiving their awards. And quite convincingly, Sajid and Akshay got everyone, from Boman Irani to Vidya Balan and even Ash to jump on the swing. To cover up actress Prachi Desai’s embarrassment for not being able to jump in a short dress, Akshay Kumar being a sport did so in her place.
The most entertaining act of the evening was by Shah Rukh Khan when he got Hrithik Roshan and his wife Suzzane on stage. He went on to tell the audience that from looks to dance, Hrithik had learnt it all from SRK...!!! And Shahrukh made Suzzane literally sit on a queen’s throne and asked Hrithik to bow down to her and obey all her commands...!!!
