Akshay's grand 'Kam-bak': Thought provoking
Akshay Kumar's latest action flick 'Kambakkht Ishq' has not been received very well by the critics, but the trade reports and box-office collections speak otherwise. The movie grossed Rs 8.50 crore net on day one it self and is going strong...

Caution: This ‘Kambakkht article’ is meant for people who belong to the category of seeing the obvious truth rather than being self-complacent in their own world filled with personal and biased opinions that are assumed to be universal (by the individual itself)

Hello guys. I hope you have proceeded to go ahead with this article after having read the ‘caution’ . However, if you have ignored it, there is no reason to go back because this article has enough substance to please the readers. At the end of the day, it’s the readers’ verdict that matters.

I was basking on the success and some appreciative comments on my first review at this wonderful site when I came across another news update that could not stop me from writing this article.

To put it briefly, Kambakkht Ishq has opened to a bumper response by wooing the ‘masses’, which encompasses ‘single screen viewers’ (this section is highly responsible for a movie’s verdict) and minor section of film goers - the ‘intelligent’ net savvy multiplex audience.

Going by the trade reports, Kambakkht Ishq has grossed a huge 8.50 crore net on day one taking its total to 9.50 crore net, as it grossed around one crore from its paid previews on Thursday. The first day collections are the second biggest ever for a Friday and around 5-10 per cent lower than the collections of Ghajini.

You might think that the major focus is on collections, but that is the job of trade analysts and they shall keep you updated. So, without much ado, let me shift towards my main motive – ‘The pursuit of Akkiness’.

Now, I am seriously amused by the attention that our very own dilli da munda, the charming Khiladi kingg kumar (who has been tagged as a super kisser recently) gets. I am still not able to figure out if it is due to his sheer luck (this will energise the critics and haters) or his dedication and commitment to advance in his successful route without caring much for the ‘onlookers’ who possess immense qualities of criticising.

Well, this is not a way of self promotion but I cannot resist from getting my own personal experience into picture to explain the difficulties a ‘struggler’ goes through. It took me four months to sign a movie, which is unlikely to even go on the floors in coming time. Keeping that in mind, just imagine how much effort goes into a film like ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ , which holds the unique identity of being the first film to bridge Bollywood and Hollywood.

And, ask yourself a few simple questions - Is it advisable to write off movies in insane one-liners, which depict nothing more than hatred or biased opinions? Is it justified to spoil the brand value of movies or any other product without any reason as such? Is it justified to write off ventures, which are the present solutions to ‘struggling industry’? Your answers shall create a whole new dimension of awareness.

For film makers whose sole aim is not to make money (movies entertain as well), this whole release thing is worse than a marathon, I swear, I mean I totally agree that marathons are like the longest races in the world but even they get over. The star value, audience expectations and improvisations increase manifold with every passing week.

Before I sign off, I would salute Akshay Kumar’s efforts. Please note that this is not stated by an obsessed Khiladi fan and in fact holds more weightage given the fact that the film industry’s present status depends heavily on his shoulders. This further strengthens the ‘Bollywood king’ title if any. (This statement itself can attract many Anti-akki chaps waiting for an opportunity to pounce upon).

As a ‘struggling actor’, I would like to tell Akshay Kumar that he's going great guns and should continue doing so. I request him to please get the industry out of  protests, recessions and depressions. Never ever go by the words of ‘petty critics and haters’. A famous quote goes as:

“The more you rise, the more criticism you come across”

However, it's a sad fact that negative spamming and filthy abuses hurled by a bunch of opportunists has affected every movie to a certain extent. This is my sincere attempt to advise such individuals not to waste their time on something insane. Making a movie would be a better way to depict three things - their knowledge on film-making, their credibility and above all how much entertainment they can provide to film lovers.

Critics, please continue your ‘irrational work’ in your own styles. No one is going to interfere in for sure.
