Aladin preview: Magic, drama and comedy

THE MOVIE Aladin is a modern remake of the classic fairy tale Aladin and the magic lamp. Ritesh Deshmukh plays the role of Aladin Chatterjee, an orphan who lives in the city of Khwaish. He is madly in love with the most beautiful girl in the world, Jasmine ( Jacqueline Frnandez). Since childhood, Aladin has been frightened by by Kasim (Sanjay Dutt) and his gang. He was bullied from his chool days by Kasim and was made to rub sundry lamps to make the genie appear like his namesake did. Aladin used to run away as he very well knew that he was not a fairy tale hero but was a normal human being. But his life changes when Jasmine gives him a magic lamp, from which the genie Genius (Amitabh Bachchan) appears.

Aladin is a young man who shares nothing other than his name with the protagonist of the famous fairy-tale. Orphaned as a child, he now lives in a cosy house in Khwaish. He’s madly in love with most beautiful girl in the world– Jasmine, who has just joined his college– but is constantly thwarted by his nemesis Kasim. From his school days, Kasim and his gang have been bullying Aladin, making him rub sundry lamps to make the genie appear (like his namesake did). But Aladin, knowing he is no fairy-tale hero, cannot do that and simply runs away.

The genie, Genius is desperate to grant Aaldin three wishes, to seek the end of his contract with the Magic Lamp. The ringmaster, keeps a track on Aladin and wants to kill him and get hold of the lamp to get back his powers as he himself was a genie once.

The movie has magic, drama and comedy. What are the wishes that Aladin makes?Will the evil ringmaster get hold of the lamp? What is the secret that the Genie has hidden from Aladin?

The movie has been directed by Sujoy Ghosh and Vishal Shekhar takes care of the music of the movie. The movie is all set to hit the screens this Friday.
