All eyes are on Malkajgiri: India's largest parliamentary constituency
Malkajgiri in Andhra Pradesh has a special significance in the nation in the present general elections. It is the largest Parliamentary Constituency in the nation with more than 30 lakh voters. It is one of the three constituencies of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and the constituency covers seven Assembly segments of Malkajgiri, Medchel, Qutubullapur, Kukatpally, L.B.Nagar, Uppal and Secunderabad Cantonment.

The Malkajgiri Parliament Constituency is talk of the town as many big personalities are contesting from here including former IAS and IPS officers, educationalists besides the Minister of State in the Central Cabinet Sarve Satyanarayana.

Jaya Prakash Narayana who is an MLA and All India President of Lok Satta Party, Dinesh Reddy who is former DGP of Andhra Pradesh contesting on YSR Congress ticket, Osmania University's ex-professor and present MLC Dr. Nageswar as an independent, Mallareddy of Malla Reddy Group of Institutions on Telugu Desam Ticket. The Telugu Desam MLA Mynampati Hanumontha Rao is contesting on Telangan Rashtra Samithi ticket after he was denied the ticket by Chandrababu Naidu.

In the fifteenth Lok Sabha, Sarve Satya Narayana was elected as Indian National Congress candidate. Now he is struggling to overcome all these big shots.

The Parliamentary constituency is consisting of majority of migrants mostly from Andhra Coastal districts. Except Medchel and Qutubullapur, the remaining five constituencies are full of Andhra settlers particularly Kukatpally, Malkajgiri, LB Nagar and Uppal are having heavily.

Being an MLC of Graduate constituency of Hyderabad the ex-Journalism Professor Dr. Nageswar has more access with the people and above than all he is a political analyst, who participates in panel discussions of Telugu TV Channels. The present MLA Dr. Jaya Prakash Narayana is also known to most of the people as he is MLA from the Kukatpally Assembly constituency and before resigning from the post of secretary in the AP Government, he worked with former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao and Chandrababu Naidu.

Though he was elected to Kukatpally Assembly segment as an MLA, he has failed to resolve the issues and could not win the love of the people. He remained stood as good speaker and recently he was accused by many that he is also a man of caste politics.

Dinesh Reddy who is a former IPS officer and DGP of Andhra Pradesh for two years, is also known to everybody but he joined politics lately. Though he has number of friends in the city, he has become a strong contender.

Sarve Satya Narayna, Minister of state in the Dr. Manmohan's cabinet is a loyal supporter of Sonia Gandhi and he won the last election with his talkativeness. This time he has to fight with a vision to be victorious as many candidates are strong in various ways. The great set back to the minister is his caste. He is Scheduled Caste person and remaining are economically strong communities like Kammas and Reddys.

Malla Reddy who is the Group Chairman of Mallareddy Institutions has got the seat in the last minutes from TDP Supremo Chandrababu Naidu and he is now enjoying the political support of the BJP as it is the ally of TDP. Being man of connection with educational institutions he is well known to the city people and has a chance to give strong fight and emerge as a winner.

Here the TRS candidate Mynampati Hanumontha Rao, though having political experience, may be the last opting candidate for many because of Andhra Migrants.

Already Chandrababu and YS Sharmila has canvassed for their candidates and Jayaprakash Narayan is waiting for Cine Actor Pawan Kalyan who is supporting him.

The constituency is consisting mainly middle income group families and more than 90% literacy rate. As it is going to vote along with the Assembly elections, the result may be political rather than general. Anyhow the entire nation is looking for the outcome very curiously.
