The curator of the Eden Garden's pitch, Prabir Mukherjee, has said that the pitch is going to be firm and would be assisting the spin bowlers, on the last 2 days of the match.
AFTER INDIA won the first Test match against West Indies within four days, there were several experts and people who were not satisfied with the pitch that had been used for the Delhi game. Hence, the pitch at Eden Gardens has been the focus this time around as the second Test match is going to be played between these two nations starting November 14. All eyes have turned towards Prabir Mukherjee, who is the curator for the pitch.

We have heard many a times that most of the pitches around the world are doctored according to the home team. Sify.com has also reported on the same lines suggesting that there might be speculation that the BCCI has asked a turning track to be prepared for the Kolkata Test match. MS Dhoni seems to have been disappointed the way tracks have been prepared during the last two matches that India played at Eden Gardens. In one of those matches (T20) they even lost the game against England. It is believed that the Indian Skipper, MS Dhoni called the wicket a slow, difficult and also an ugly looking wicket.
The curator, Prabir Mukherjee, must not have been happy to hear those words from the Indian captain, as it takes a lot to prepare a pitch for an international game. The curator is not aware of any instructions from BCCI in written about the pitch that has been given to him. He also said that the pitch is going to be a firm one, where it would turn in the last two days of the game. If it is the case, then we could see a good battle between the bat and the ball, which many fans around the world would like to witness.
The 22-yard strip is not something that the BCCI needs to think about a lot, but they need to think about the crowd that would be in attendance during the Test match. The last game played between India and England did not witness the crowd that we have been acquainted to in the past.
