THE SUPREME COURT appointed Central Empowered Committee (CEC) has come to the conclusion that all the five iron ore mining companies in Andhra Pradesh have trespassed the areas beyond their leased limits. The committee had submitted its report on Friday. The content of the report is said to have leaked yesterday in Delhi and all Andhra Pradesh news papers carried its contents in a sensational way particularly the anti-Congress papers.
The case is already pending in the Supreme Court and in the meanwhile a man belonging to Karnataka namely Tapala Ganesh had filed an implied petition seeking the Court to include the CEC as one of the respondents.
As per them the CEC has suggested the Court to order all the six iron ore mining to be stopped immediately as there was encroachments. Among these three belong to Gali Janardhana Redy and his associates.
In the 18-page report the committee has found fault with the Andhra Pradesh Government with regard to Obulapuram Mining Company (OBC) in covering up the illegal mining.
The CEC has requested the Court to issue orders to all companies to stall the transport of ore which already dug and the leased areas should be surveyed jointly by central and sate officers for new demarcation in a time bound manner. The committee also suggested that those were found mining with in the frame of rules should be allowed to continue and those flouting rules should be delicensed.
Reacting to this Andhra Chief Minister Rosaiah said that whatever the Supreme Court decides the Andhra Pradesh Government would implement. Meanwhile, BJP top leader Venkaiah Naidu criticised Chandrababu Naidu and said that every thing would come out in the CBI enquiry about who had given the license and who transferred the mines to private men.
