The 39 members delegation led by union home minister P. Chidambaram landed at the Srinagar international airport today in a special plane to meet different groups, legislators, members of political parties and prominent civilians from the valley.

During the CCS meeting last week, it was decided to send an all-party delegation to the troubled region in the state. Besides union home minister P. Chidambaram, senior leaders from all parties such as the BJP's Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, Basudeb Acharia of the CPI (M), Gurudas Dasgupta of the CPI and JD (U) President Sharad Yadav are the part of delegation.
Since the month of June, Jammu and Kashmir has been rocked by widespread protests and more than 100 people have been killed in clashes with security forces. Curfew has been imposed in Srinagar and other areas of the state for the last eight days.
Hurriyat Conference chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front leader Yasin Malik have said that they will boycott the meeting with all-party delegation.
Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh has also expressed deep concern over the current violence and volatile situation in Kashmir valley.
