Now it is Strauss Kahn whom the Manhattan Court has almost set free, after initially denying him even the bail, from charges of raping that hotel housekeep, whom it has considered of unclean past. The crime of rape against women is therefore taking new definitions; all rape is no more a rape.

Ipso facto men always take the initiative and women remain a docile partner in sex. But for their taking the lead, sex would never happen, failing the big design of Mother Nature. All sex therefore starts with a man thrusting himself upon a woman, which is rape, but if the woman comes along participating in the act willingly, it is not rape.

Men by nature get sexually excited soon. Women take time to be aroused sexually. Men need to patiently fondle woman for their arousal. Some men, however, are unable to contain themselves and thrust themselves quickly. Women feel outraged in such cases, and it constitutes a rape against them. Many of such impatient men may be husbands who force themselves on their wives, but this is not rape in the eyes of the law.

If men take women by surprise, sexual intercourse is all the more pleasurable as women like an element of surprise. However, some women are too fastidious and narrow-minded to accept such an excess, and in that case it constitutes an act of sexual crime against them.

Some women can repress excitement and participate in sex only physically, for money. But they can take advantage of the law to book men for rape to extract more money from them. The charges of rape in such cases fizzle out as ‘no-crime’ because these women were unchaste anyway. Nevertheless, these cases make good headlines in the media.

Homely women, who try to keep themselves chaste at all costs, when forced into sex by relatives or outsiders are the real victims of rape. The crime of rape against them should be punished with harshest punishment. However defense attorneys these days have learnt the tricks to show them as promiscuous, saving their rapist clients from punishment. This is not in the good of the society.

Finally, there are crimes of sexual outrage against girl child and against old ladies. These should not be called rape but equated with murder and should attract punishments reserved for perpetrators of heinous crimes.
