Allahabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) to launch Drive against Cattle Menace

With a view of putting a check on cattle menace in the streets of the city, the Allahabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is all set to launch a drive against stray cattle that are let loose to roam about on road freely.

NOW, IT will be possible to control them after two hydraulic cattle catching vans in the city. It is worth mentioning here that the catching vans are well designed and it will help immensely catch stray cattle like bulls, ox, goats, buffaloes and cows.

Earlier, the vehicles used for catching cattle were difficult to operate as the loading of cattle on the vehicles was not easy. It was because, the work was done manually and there was not sufficient space in vehicle. But the new hydraulic vans are well equipped to get hold of he cattle. These vans have adequate space for the convenience of the cattle.

Besides, the loading of cattle also becomes much easier due to the automatic functioning of the van?s gate that comes down automatically helping he cattle to enter the van conveniently. In this regard, AMC official revealed that these well- equipped vans have been bought with a cost of around Rs.20 lakh. The cattle catching drive used to be affected owing to problem in loading cattle in cattle-catching van. And as the work was done manually, often Worker used to get wounded in course of such drive said official. Moreover, lack of proper space also affected the drive. But the problems of such kind would not take place in new cattle catching van, said the official.
