Allot land on Re.1 lease to Brahmin community to get Parshuram Bhawan constructed: Himachal Govt
Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has directed all the deputy commissioners of the state to allot land on one rupee lease to the Brahmin community to get Parshuram Bhawan constructed at the district level provided the land is identified by the members of the concerned community.
He also directed officers of big temples in the state to establish libraries so that research scholars could be benefited whereas such libraries had already been working in the Sanskrit colleges and academies.

He was presiding over a meeting of the Brahmin Kalyan Board organized here at Dharamshala today. He said that Sanskrit was an ancient and rich language and was a high scoring subject. He assured the members to consider their demand of introducing Sanskrit at senior secondary level in the government schools.

The chief minister, also, released a book on former minister late Pandit Sant Ram from Baijnath area of the district. The book titles 'Sadharan mein Asadharana'.

Issues, which were taken for discussion, included provision of reservation for economically backward Brahmins, granting of land and funds for construction of Parshuram community centres at district level, to provide benefit of different govt. schemes on economic grounds, issuing of identity card to every member of Brahmin Welfare Board, giving back of ownership of temple land, ensuring participation of Brahmin Committees in the management of temples, setting up of libraries in various temples, opening of more Sanskrit colleges and academies, to provide sufficient funds for upkeep of Gausadans, to take appropriate steps to check menace of vermin including monkeys, loan facility @ four per cent interest to the economically poor Brahmin families, construction of link roads, supply of potable water, helping the poor meritorious Brahmin students in getting higher education, to add ritual and astrology training along with skill development programme, repair of ancient Narsingh Temple, constitution of Shakti Welfare Board of different Shaktipeeths, taking over of Sanatan Dharm Sanskrit College, Chamba etc.
