Allotment of liqour shop at the entrance of the approach road worries residents a lot
As per the recent Telangana Government Excise policy the liquor shops are allotted as per the maximum prescribed fees as per the population of the area. The bidder has been allowed to find accommodation to run his/her business once his/her bid was successful.

The bidder selects a premise or a piece of land and constructs a temporary structure to run the business and the license is given by the authorities whether the premises is within the prescribed limits from a place of worship or educational institution or hospitals. The excise department does not seek a no-objection certificate either from the neighbours or from the locality people.

Not so happy at home front, the residents of the apartment complexes opposite to pillar no. 178 to 187 have come to know that, at the starting point only approach road to the nine blocks residential complex opposite to pillar no. 184 & 185 the successful bidder is opening his retail outlet shortly.

The construction work is going on briskly. The retail outlet exactly within 50 meters of the bus stop opposite to pillar no. 185 and is in about 100 meters to an educational institution opposite to pillar no. 186 and adjacent to residential complexes too. Further, the pedestrians and commuters waiting at the bus stop are put to hardship due to wrong side driving by the vehicle drivers.

There are two places of worship within nine blocks Housing complexes, which belong to two sects of Muslim minority. There are several families living outside the housing complex. One sect men, women & children has to cross the outlet and come through the approach road to the place of worship during mornings and nights. Several working women living in and around nine blocks housing complex do reach bit late in the night, they are worried and talk of insecurity.

If the outlet is allowed to function, worshipers, women and children will not be able to use the approach road due to safety reasons. There is no proper street lighting on the approach road and it adds additional worries and controlling of daily nuisance is not possible. The peace and harmony prevailing in the area will be totally disturbed.

Will the officials take steps to close down the outlet if the residents lodge a complaint with them? It is doubtful. Will the local police set up an outpost for the safety of the residents and others and to control drunken brawl?
