Amanatullah Khan resigns from AAP's Political Affairs Committee
In another setback to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), its MLA Amanatullah Khan resigned after yesterday's political affairs committee (PAC) meeting of the party.

This comes a day after he had accused Kumar Vishwas, an AAP leader of plotting a coup in the party.

Khan was AAP's MLA from Okhla constituency. Vishwas, also a member of the PAC, however, skipped the meeting.

The party immediately accepted Khan's resignation.

Deputy CM of Delhi, Manish Sisodia while speaking to the reporters after the party meeting said that the party leadership was upset with Khan and Vishwas for publicly voicing their differences.

"Arvindji (Arvind Kejriwal) is upset with both Kumar and Amanatullah. PAC also discussed Vishwas's absence from the meeting. Even he (Vishwas) has been giving interviews and releasing video. The party is also unhappy with this. If anyone has grievances, they can raise them with the party leadership," Sisodia said.

He also said that rather than airing their differences publicly, the two should have raised the concerns through appropriate channels within the party.

The development came after AAP leaders in Delhi and Punjab had written to Kejriwal demanding that Khan be expelled from the party.

Khan had alleged that Vishwas had tried to overthrow Kejriwal and replace him as the leader of the AAP.

In a bid to address the growing the rift within the party, Kejriwal had tweeted "Kumar is my younger brother. Some people are trying to create a rift between us. Such people are enemies of the party. They better mend their ways. No one can separate us."

Vishwas is one of the leaders of the AAP who had criticised the party for blaming EVMs for the loss in the MCD elections. AAP leaders including Bhagwant Mann and Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi had also criticised the AAP leadership for blaming the EVMs for the recent poll loss.
