At American idol, the lesser the number of finalists, the harder it gets to predict who'll be going home. The show sent back Siobhan Magnus home. The status of a contestant on the show depends upon both the judges' decision as well as the fans polls.

According to the polls sent in by people, the worst performances of the night were by Casey James and Aaron Kelly. The probabilities of elimination seemed quite high for Casey James, Aaron Kelly and Crystal Bowersox.

 
Due to the jazz format of Tuesday night’s episode of American Idol, it was viewed as one of the most challenging weeks of the entire competition for the  contestants. The five remaining competitors were required to perform renditions of iconic Frank Sinatra songs whose selections were arranged by mentor Harry Connick Jr.
 

It looked like Lee DeWyze benefited the most from the Tuesday night’s jazz format. During his rendition of Sinatra’s “That’s Life”, DeWyze performed the song with a better than usual stage presence and enthusiasm with Connic playing the keyboard alongside. Judges Ellen DeGeneres and Kara Dioguardi stated that DeWyze is possibly nearing victory by having established himself as a viable contender.
 
Another contestant who impressed the judges was Michael Lynche. DeGeneres, Dioguardi and Randy Jackson also praised Lynche for his performance of Sinatra’s “The Way You Look Tonight.” Strangely frontrunner Crystal Bowersox, the audience’s favourite for many weeks, put forth one of her least impressive performances due to the fact that it was considered to be dull by Jackson and Cowell.
 
Casey James has reportedly said that he deserves to go home following his performance last night. James is now the odds on favourite to be the next American Idol Next Eviction at 14/19 with Aaron Kelly at 2/1. Crystal Bowersox remains the odds on betting favourite to win American Idol 2010.
