Americans unhappy with government, have no faith in Palin
Two-thirds of Americans are 'dissatisfied' or 'angry' about the way the United States federal government is working, says a new survey by the Washington Post-ABC News.

TWO-THIRDS of Americans are "dissatisfied" or "angry" about the way the United States federal government is working, says a new survey by the Washington Post-ABC News.

The poll says that American think, that 53 cents of every dollar they pay as tax is "wasted."

The new findings clearly show that Obama administration has failed to bring any significant change to a needy US economy. Also, the political standing of former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin has deteriorated significantly. Only very few Americans say they know about the "tea party" movement advocated by Palin.

Only two-thirds of those polled say they know just some, very little or nothing about what the tea party movement stands for. About one in eight says they know "a great deal" about the positions of tea party groups, but the lack of information does not erase the appeal: About 45 percent of all Americans say they agree at least somewhat with tea partiers on issues, including majorities of
Republicans and independents.

Palin’s reputation of being a fierce presidential candidate has taken a severe hit in the survey. Fifty-five percent of Americans have unfavorable views of her, while the percentage holding favorable views has dipped to 37, a new low in Post-ABC polling.

There is a growing sense that the former Alaska governor is not qualified to serve as president, with more than seven in 10 Americans now saying she is unqualified. Even among Republicans, a majority now say Palin lacks the qualifications necessary for the White House.

The poll was conducted by telephones from Feb 4 to 8, partly overlapping with the tea party convention.
