THE GLOBAL economy may be driven by America but have you really thought about what drives America? A report that was compiled on the top fifty venture capital funded companies has revealed that behind the success of each of these companies is the hand of an immigrant.

The immigrants, majorly from India, have helped in creating at least 150 jobs in each of these companies. Other countries that follow India in funding a company include Israel, Canada, Iran and New Zealand. Other investors also hail from Italy, South Africa, Greece, Norway, Germany, Britain, Singapore, Switzerland and France. The report was released by National Foundation for American Policy and its representative Stuart Anderson was quoted saying by Economic Times that, “Immigrants are increasingly important in driving growth and innovation in America, as evidenced by the role played by foreign-born founders and key personnel in the nation's breakthrough companies”.

The report titled “Immigrant Founders and Key Personnel in America's 50 Top Venture-Funded Companies”, also said that about 46 per cent of the ventures had at least one founder from outside the United States. It was also stated in the study that at least 74 per cent had at least one immigrant representative in helping the company grow by innovation and being key player in the management.
