Upon winning the award, Abhishek said, Paa is an old hand at the National Awards. The award being a first for him sent him all the way to moon. He said that as a producer he ensured that everyone working in the project was comfortable and happy.

HISTORY WAS scripted for the first time in Bollywood when members of the same family won the coveted National Awards for the same movie. Mega star Amitabh Bachchan and heartthrob for a million plus population, Abhishek Bachchan won National Awards for the movie Paa which was directed by R. Balakrishnan.

The award was third for Amitabh Bachchan in the best actor category and first one for Abhishek as the best producer. As soon as the awards were announced, Amitabh Bachchan's family sprang into celebratory mode. The news was first broken to Amitabh by his son who later turned back to sleep after getting the news.

Upon winning the award, Abhishek said, Paa is an old hand at the National Awards. The award being a first for him sent him to the moon. He said that as a producer he ensured that everyone working in the project was comfortable and happy. He further added that this award gives him the confidence to continue producing films that he believes in.

The director of the movie, who addressed the media from London said that this is just the beginning. Although he is working out the possibilities of working with Amitabh Bachchan for the third time, he emphasised by saying that whatever he does gets along well with the mega star. Before Paa, Balki and Bachchan had worked in the movie Cheeni Kum.
