ONCE AGAIN Amitabh Bachchan (Big B) proved that the age is no bar for hard work and good show. He has won the National Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of a 12-year old child suffering with rare disorder Progeria in R Balki’s movie ‘Paa’. Not only Bollywood, but all his fans around the world have expressed their happiness for megastar bagging the fourth National Award in his career. Even Big B himself expressed pleasure after winning the award and said that his role in Paa was more challenging for him and the honour made him feel ‘worthy and wanted’.
Amitabh Bachchan has earlier won National Award for Best Newcomer in 1969 for Saat Hindustani, and went on to get two best actor trophies for his portrayal of the angry young man Vijay Deenanath Chauhan in Agnipath and in 2006, for Black.
The actor remembered his experience of shooting for ‘Paa’ and said that it was indeed a tiring film. He would sit for five hours to get his make-up done and then it will take another few hours to get it off. With his win, the actor has joined an elite league of actors with multiple National Awards in their kitty, moving one step ahead of Malayalam superstar Mammootty who has won the award thrice.
