Amitabh Thakur vs Mulayam: Seeking justice Thakur meets home ministry official; UP CM says Mulayam was only advising
The fight between senior IPS officer Amitabh Thakur and Samajwadi Party Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav has reached the doors of Union home ministry, with Thakur meeting Additional Home Secretary, Anant Kumar Singh today in New Delhi. Talking to reporters after his meeting Thakur said that the secretary had assured him to look into the matter.

Amitabh Thakur also expressed hopes of getting justice from the home ministry. Thakur wants CBI probe into the issue and he has reached New Delhi to request for the same.

Seems rape accusation against Thakur by a Ghaziabad-based woman forced him to seek CBI probe into the matter. The IPS officer is blaming Samajwadi Party chief of conspiring against him, as the rape charges came a day after his allegations against Mulayam Singh Yadav that SP supremo threatened over phone.

Meanwhile, UP's CM Akhilesh Yadav has defended his father's action saying he was only advising the IPS officer, not threatening.

On Thursday, July 9, an FIR was registered against UP's mining minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati; UP state women's commission chairperson, Zarina Usmani and six others on the complaint of Nutan Thakur (wife of Amitabh Thakur).

Last Friday, the senior IPS officer released an audio tape purportedly containing Mulayam's voice. And then requested the authorities for a security cover for himself and his family. On Saturday he filed a complaint with the Hazratganj police station against former UP Chief Minister, alleging that Mulayam has threatened him with dire consequences.

Just after a day of the audio release, the rape FIR was filed against Thakur. The IAS officer has termed the rape FIR against him as a 'return gift' from the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister.

The audio clip released by Amithabh Thakur consists of a two-minute long recording: "Ab aap sudhar jaiye, itta he keh diya maine (now you must mend your ways, I've told you as much)".
