An Acharya (Guru) versus a leader- In NaMo we have a combo
Sanskrit word 'Acharya' means, "One Who Leads By Example of Personal Way of Life". Over the period of time the word 'Guru' came to be used with impunity as its replacement. Be that, as it may , people were exonerated to surrender before the "Guru" only after testing him of his credentials. Narender Nath went on to be called & known as "Swami Vivekananda" after he submitted himself before Ramakrishna Paramahamsa.

It was not just a matter of fact a routine surrender. His deep intensity in search of 'Knowledge about God' took him to number of Religious Gurus before whom, he had only one question "Have you seen God?' The answer to his question was given by Ramakrishna Paramhansa thus, "Yes, as clearly as I am seeing You" and saying, "you have taken a long time to come, I had been waiting for you", he placed his hand on Narender's forehead, which sent him in to a state of "Yog Nidra" and face to face with reality of Godhead. Thus was born Swami Vivekananda, the beckoning lighthouse for the youth of the world.

Modi Ji had also left home at tender age in quest of spiritual knowledge, which took him to Belur Math, the seat of Ramakrishna Mission. In Vivekanand, Modi Ji found an allay, a friend and guide for his future life. A fire to work for well being of his motherland started burning in him and he developed a relationship of "pupil & acharya" with Lakshmanrao Inamdar a senior pracharak in Rashtrya Sawyam Sewak Sangh".

It is said of Laksmamrao Inamdar that he was a very strict disciplinarian, who led by personal example and only once in late life, due to failing health, he had asked for a glass of water while delivering a lecture and before resuming his talk he had sought forgiveness of audience for having to interrupt his talk.

The Sishya also in his moment of succumbing to emotional meltdown, had the need for that glass of water. Though, he did not seek forgiveness for having interrupted his speech, he had gone on to seek answer 'How can a son be thanked for serving his mother, the motherland" Modiji has not taken the road to being a 'Spiritual Guru', but he has traveled the path to be "a True Leader", for the nation's youth to emulate. He bowed his head at the 'First Step' in reverence to "Temple of Democracy" , i.e. the Parliament House, a deed none before him ever did, not even Nehru, Sardar Patel, or others.

Yes, he chose to give a pat on his own back, for the monumental herculean effort he had put in canvassing, but that was not out of arrogance but as a gentle reminder to Youth of India, that fixed objective, however difficult, can be achieved through single minded approach with blinders on and keeping 'Ears Open'. Yes, he has become an icon of true leadership.

On the other hand, the young capable Turks within the Congress such as Scindia, Pilot, Deora etc must seek an answer from their own conscience. Have they got a true leader in Rahul? One who went away outside India, at this critical juncture and did not feel it important to give respect to the Prime Minister Of India of 10 years standing, by remaining present on his thanks giving dinner.

"How can one give a person an unbridled right to get respect from his followers, who can not give respect to others?" Have you people asked him "What was the real purport behind his escape mission abroad? No my dear friends, without any iota of rancor, I submit it to you, that keeping in view the objective of serving motherland (not Gandhi clan) rise in your own esteem and become leaders on your own steam.....the days of piggy riding are over, and that you can serve your own interest better by being a leader and not a follower.

Here again I am taking a leaf out of Modi ji's shared vision, "Governance not from Delhi, but from Roots". In Modi Ji, nation has been blessed to have both a "Spiritual Guru as well a True Leader" whilst being a son of Motherland. One of the most important personal belongings moving to '7 Race Course' will be Swami Vivekanand and his works & speeches of his mentor Lakshmanrao Inamdar....Nation first and above all.
