An appeal to all Chakmas: Stand up to fight for your rights
Arunachal Times newspaper says, 'According to AAPSU, Diyun town possessed highest numbers of refugees with a population of more than thirty thousand. The team visited 'illegal settlement place' in Diyun areas namely Moitripur, Gautampur, Shantipur, Jyotipur, Avoipur, Dumpani, Rajnagarh, Modhupur-I,II, Haripur I, II and Jyotsnapur, Rajnagar, Kamkhyapur, Udoipur,Dumpather, Lower Mudoideep and Upper Mudoideep on first and second day of the tour. On third day, the team visited forest reserved areas of Mudakha Nallah, Sukha Nallah, Dangoria Baba Mandir and Shillong Pahar. It said more than 80 per cent of forest reserved areas has been occupied.'

Now, I have a question here. How long will you tolerate such baseless reports? Why can't you protest against such news which is published in the Arunachal Times News? Are those blocks of Chakmas an illegal settlement? How can you tolerate such insulting statement against Chakmas which is given by AAPSU? Why don't you come out of your hidden rooms to road to protest against such humiliating statements?

You can protest at Diyun Bazaar by gathering 1000 Chakma brothers and sisters from many villages. There are people who are studying far around India who can come forward to protest against the wrong statement? I hope you are not so poor that you can't afford to buy a meter of cloth to make it as a placard. Or you are just trying to fill your guts only.

There are many students, workers in the companies, restaurants, banks, government jobs, NGO members and so on living in many cities in the country. The Chakmas who live in rural and remote areas in Arunachal Pradesh can't reach their voice to the media, national and international level. But those people who are living far away from the state can stand up against such false statements and can scream loudly. Why are you so silent? Don't think that the AAPSU and state government will listen to you by posting your personal opinion on Facebook only. Who cares about such posts that you leave on Facebook?

It is my suggestion for you (all). Gather together and protest against it wherever you are. Delhi chakmas' Students can protest against such news before Arunachal Bhavan in New Delhi. Pressurize the state government to apply the Citizenship Act. Boost your energy and get ready to fight for your rights. Don't worry whether they come on table for dialogue or not. We will protest as long as they don't come to table for dialogue. But such news can't be tolerated again.

After living here since last 50 years, they are giving us a "Refugee title" and didn't grant us citizenship. So, we are not in a hurry too. We will take our right legally. We don't need sympathy. We will fights for our rights as long as we alive. Otherwise, pack your bag and leave your motherland if you don't have guts to stand up to them.
