An opportunity to look at life through the lenses
People who dream about the film world and the various nuances of filmmaking have a good opportunity to explore their dreams. The filmmaking premier league is looking for people with a passion for films.

THE CREATIVE field is always in need of fresh talent so that new ideas can come to the fore with this talent. The film market is going stale and it is in urgent need of fresh ideas, which would be able to take the film industry of India a step further. Change is not always appreciated by everyone but it is a necessity for growth and in order to encourage the talent of budding filmmakers, the Filmmakers Premier League is hosting a film competition for the year 2011.


People with a passion with filmmaking, scriptwriting, and cinematography can participate in this league, and one can submit an online application from till 8th October, 2011. The event is being organised by Miniboxoffice, and will take place all over India including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata,  Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Ahmadabad, NCR, Lucknow and Bhopal.

The event is divided into two categories of short filmmaking and animated filmmaking. The short film can be approximately of 4 minutes to 8 minutes duration, and it should be completed in 5 shifts of 10 hours each, along with the scripting, shooting, production and the post-production of the film. The judges want to see a film that is entertaining, enlightening and meaningful. The other category of animation film would be a 21-day affair wherein the makers would be involved in the same four steps of filmmaking, which is scripting, shooting, production and the post-production. However, for the animation film, the time limit is 2 minutes to 5 minutes.The filmmaker is allowed to choose any Indian language but there must be English subtitles to go with the film.

The winners of the both the categories of the film would get 50,000 cash, to be divided among the team. The top three teams to make the best films will also be awarded with Rs. 10,000 rupees, and others would get a participation certificate. The icing on the cake for the 10 top winners would be that all the 10 films would be globally marketed and distributed by the miniboxoffice.
