Andhra Pradesh to host multidisciplinary academic and research conference
A two-day "International Academic and Research Conference" will be organised by International Multidisciplinary Research Foundation on October 9 and 10 in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, on the eve of UNESCO's 70th Anniversary Celebrations.

According the organisers, it is a unique opportunity for academic and research community covering all subjects and research areas to share experiences and present papers to establish linkages between various knowledge areas. Keeping this in view no theme has been prescribed for the conference.

These days, the multidisciplinary research work is being promoted to bring two or more academic disciplines together to create unified perspectives either by collaborating or independent work for sharing and unifying. This kind of research relies on a broad approach to find answers to complex questions, which a single discipline is unable to handle.

Though multidisciplinary research is definitely a buzz word of the present times, but in India the trend has not picked up as it is often undertaken as a research project requiring extra funds. Such projects require skills and flexibility both from leaders and team members forming the research group with new norms to find answers to complex research questions.

It has been reported that for multidisciplinary research projects, four approaches are common, namely, additive, non-disciplinary, integrated and synthetic approach. However, the synthetic approach has earned much respect, since in it the interaction between disciplines leads to emergence of a new discipline with its own basic principles and assumptions.
