Anna Hazare to re-launch stir for Jan Lokpal bill
With the objective to push the Centre to pass the pending Jan Lokpal bill, anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare has announced that he will launch a fresh agitation for the bill from Delhi's Ramlila ground in October-November during the time when Delhi goes to polls to elect a new assembly whose term expires on December 18, 2013.

Addressing his supporters in Bhopal's Gandhi Bhawan, Anna said, "For effectively checking corruption, the government will have to pass the Jan Lokpal Act, and for that I am not afraid of even giving up my life." Anna is on a nationwide tour following the formation of Jantantra Morcha.

I want to create awareness before launching a fresh anti-graft agitation," he said, adding that "the government deceived me several times, and now voters would give it an apt reply," reported The Times of India. Anna suggested that for the posts of the president and the prime minister, there should be direct elections. Anna has planned to go solo with his Jantantra Morcha and the Morcha will not seek support from any political party or person. Alluding to Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Anna said, "I am happy without their company.

While Anna and Arvind continue to meet and ideate, they have parted ways after Kejriwal decided to enter politics. Anna's position has been consistent - to bring social change while being an outsider by undertaking civil resistance and Gandhian satyagraha. Analysts say that with the two going their separate ways, the anti-corruption movement has lost momentum and the central government will benefit from Kejriwal's decision to enter politics due to his inexperience and lack of resources to mobilize large-scale electioneering.
