Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will inaugurate the three day Rajgir Mahotsav 2011 on December 27 in Rajgir. Bollywood singer Alka Yagnik and the Gazal singers Roop Kumar Rathod and Sonali Rathod will perform during the Mahotsav.
THE THREE day annual Rajgir Mahotsav 2011 will start from December 27 and will continue till December 29 in Rajgir, a historical place, located around 110 km from the Bihar's capital Patna. Bihar Chief minister Nitish Kumar will inaugurate the annual mega festival. The three-day 'Rajgir Mahotsav 2011 is being organising by Bihar Tourism Department. During the three day Rajgir Mahotsav, Bollywood singer Alka Yagnik and Gazal singers Roop Kumar Rathod and Sonali Rathod will be among the list of performers.

Besides, famous Hindi poet Ashok Chakradhar, singer Aishwarya Nigam, Bipin Kumar, Chetan Rana, Satyendra Kumar and folk artists are also in the list of performers. Rajgir was the first capital of the kingdom of Magadha during the Mauryan dynasty. The place is also in the international tourist map because Gautam Buddha meditated and preached here and also delivered some of his famous sermons. Rajgir is famous for its hot water springs, Vishwa Shanti Stupa that was built in 1969, and among one of the 80 peace pagodas in the world.
