Apart from this, Pakistan has always been emanating terror attack on India time to time. And now the discovery of a tunnel by the troops deployed on the LoC in Pallanwala sector of Akhnoor (being dug from Pakistan) is shocking and threatening to India’s security.
The act would not have come to fore unless the pouring of heavy rains in the area that led to the earth caving in, revealing the 75 metre-long tunnel. It is estimated that about 50 metres of that is in the Indian side. The tunnel is believed to aid infiltration of militants and ammunition from across the border.
As heavy rains lashed the region - troops in Pallanwala sector of Akhnoor discovered a tunnel dug all the way from Pakistan. This tunnel comes in the vicinity of Pakistan’s Mango Post and the PP2 Post on the Indian side.
The tunnel uncovered in Akhnoor mirrors the smuggling tunnels of Gaza in design. These tunnels in the Gaza Strip lead to Egypt bypassing the barrier built by Israel - a safe and tricky way to infiltrate into India.
While the infiltration is one of the major problems in all the bordering states of India, the latest discovery poses a fresh challenge for troops fighting the never ending hassle of infiltration.
