Most violent protests were witnessed in Sudan and Tunisia with protesters in thousands clashed with security forces. In Sudan, people were incited by calling 'America an enemy to Islam and to Sudan' and urged to march to the U.S. Embassy to protest the film. Several thousand then moved in a convoy of buses to the U.S. Embassy on Khartoum's outskirts to ransack it. Chanting anti-Us slogans, the protesters clashed with Sudanese police, who fired on some who tried to scale the compound's wall.
In Tunis, several thousand people clashed with the police outside the U.S. Embassy. The protesters threw stones and bricks on the police. In return, the police started firing tear gas shells and shooting into the air to disperse the crowd.
President Barack Obama has vowed to 'stand fast' against attacks on U.S. embassies around the world and blamed Islamic militants and terrorists for trying to reverse the gains of Arab Spring.
