Anurag Kashyap talks about Shaitaan - his next project
Film director Anurag Kashyap's new film 'Shaitaan' is scheduled to have a nation-wide release on June 10, 2011. Kashyap has co-produced the film, and is looking forward to the film's release.
AN INTERACTION with Anurag Kashyap is always interesting. A well known figure of the Hindi film industry, Kashyap has made a good number of films. He is a director, story writer, screen play writer and an actor. “The boys are intelligent, good looking and cool. Incidentally, they come across incidences due to which the entire things are changed and they witness their insight,” said Kashyap. “Rest of the things will be known to your after viewing the film,” added Kashyap. The filmmaker said that said that he had not made Shaitaan independently, and that the production of the film is associated with Viacom 18 motion pictures for this film. But Kashyap is the co-producer of this project. As to why he chose 18 motion pictures, Kashyap said, “I am impressed by the approach of 18 motion pictures, its focus on quality, and I wanted to partner with right people and the market. I remain in search of partners with same the thoughts, and I found Viacom 18. I am confident that our association will give better results,” said Kashyap. The film Shaitaan has an interesting star cast including Kalki Koachlin, Kirti Kulhari, Gulshan Deviah, Shiv Pandit and Rajeev Khandelwal, The supporting cast comprises of Pawan Malhotra, Rajit Kapoor, and Nikhil Chinnappa, and Bejoy Nambir is the director of film. Kashyap said he had not recommended the name of Kalki for the movie. “I have full faith in Bejon, who is capable of taking decisions. He himself had selected Kalki for her role. Moreover, she is a brilliant actor and she herself takes decisions to accept or refuse a film.”
The casting of Rajeev Khandelwal was interesting. “He is a talented actor. Actually we were surprised to see some of his shots. I look ahead for his bright future,” said Kashyap, And why did Kashyap select Bejon for the film? “Bejon is known to me for couple of years. We belong to same school of film production, and understand each other well. I have full faith in him, and that is why I picked him to direct his first film. The discussion ended in a cheerful mood and we have wished him well for the upcoming film,” said Kashyap.
