Anushka Sharma on the cover of Vogue India's May issue: Talks about her films and career
The cover page of Vogue India's May 2016 issue is featuring Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma in a see-through panel dress embellished with floral motifs. In an interview with the magazine published in the latest issue, the actress talked about many things including her career and how she chooses her films. Sharma also talked about her journey from a wedding planner to a ballsy noir actress.

One of the youngest actresses in the production business, the actress's every move hints towards her path-breaking tendencies. The glam diva is all set to write her own rules (and scripts) and live by them. Here's what she has to say about her films: "I pick a film that has a strong plot. I'd never pick one to piggyback on a big actor or director's name."

The actress' decision to turn producer with a unique and dark action-thriller NH10, speaks volumes about her intrepid character. The film had a female protagonist played by Anushka Sharma herself.

She said, "People asked why I was doing it in the prime of my career. But we only say this about actresses because we assume that they need to do it to find work towards the end of their careers. I'm not into production to make films that glorify me or to replicate films that have worked at the box office; I'm doing it because I want to create quality cinema."

Even though she has portrayed strong leads in many films, she has won awards only for supporting roles. But then, that didn't affect her strong determination.

"I genuinely don't believe in awards. It's rewarding enough that a film like NH10 (2015) got the response that it did, and that because of its success I'm now producing a film with Fox Star Studios, which is funny, romantic and poles apart from NH10," said the actress while talking about her next project Phillauri.

Phillauri stars Life Of Pi actor Suraj Sharma along with Punjabi actor Diljit Dosanjh alongside Sharma. Currently, the actress is entirely focused on doing her bit for what she terms as one of the most challenging roles of her career. In Ali Abbas Zafar's directorial Sultan, opposite Salman Khan, Sharma is playing a Haryanvi-spouting wrestler.

"She's one committed actor who can pull off the role in terms of sheer performance, she physically transformed herself in six weeks," said director Abbas Zafar. The transformation that is hard to imagine but, going by the first look, Sharma's 10-hour training seems to have paid off.

"Wrestling is a lot about technique. It's a strategy game about finding your opponent's weakness," said the actress. Sharma's hard work, honesty and determination have won her millions of fans.
