Anushka Sharma responsible for Virat Kohli's performance in semi-final?
India lost to Australia in today's semi-finals and all people can talk about is how Anushka Sharma is responsible for Virat Kohli's premature departure from the field, which had a snowball effect into India losing the match. When a colleague exclaimed that how can someone concentrate when players were too engrossed in their love stories, it made me think- Was Anushka Sharma responsible for Kohli's failure?

I know it sounds absurd and I know most of memes on the internet are just for fun- a way to blow off some steam after a disappointing loss. But, if we sit down and think, weren't there moments in our life, when on a stage or a field, we wanted to win so much for a lady love or a guy friend, that we goofed up? Agreed, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma is past the 'impress me' stage, but still it won't be absolutely absurd to think that he chokes a little each time when he wants to prove himself in front of his lady love.

Even the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) thinks that girlfriends are distractions and however ridiculous that might sound, doesn't it make sense- a little? Trying to understand this further, I asked Sudip Sen about his take on the matter and he replied matter-of-factly, '' No, how can someone sitting on the ground be responsible for someone, who is playing on the field. I think this is absolutely ludicrous.'' However, Hina, who is an ardent Indian supporter doesn't agree and says, '' I absolutely believe that Kohli was distracted and hence couldn't concentrate on his game. What would have happened if she would have stayed behind and away from the field?!''

Even Twitter seems divided on the issue:
