NASA which stands for National Association of Students of Architecture is a student's organization, functioning for the last 52 years with a membership of 40000 students from over 130 colleges.
THE SCHOOL of Architecture & Planning, Apeejay Institute of Technology hosted a 3-day extravaganza, ZONAL NASA 2011. To satisfy the thirst for knowledge and quest for innovation, the convention was structured as an amalgamation of events of various genres ranging from architectural design to fine and allied arts and even literary and dramatic events.
The event named “Paarthiv”, provided a forum of interaction and complemented the aspiration of the young architects engaged in solving problems of the climate change abetment, waste management, earthquakes resistant structure, energy efficient designs and similar other problems faced by humanity in the 21st Century. The participants not only gained valuable information but were also made aware of what all innovations and ideas are in vogue. To lighten up the mood of the participants, an environment of jubilation was also created with events such as musical nights, fashion shows and dramatics.Deepak Agarwal, District Magistrate, Gautam Budh Nagar had concurred for holding of the Convention at the Institutional Area, Greater Noida and assured the organising committee of the NASA, the security and safety of the participants and students. Chief Guest Man Singh Rana (Dean, Sushant College), inaugurated the session and said, “The pairing of Zonal Nasa and the School of architecture & Planning, Apeejay Institute of Technology is perfect as both endeavor to train and educate the youth to become architectures of global excellence imbibing in them spiritual, intellectual and cultural ethos.”
Deputy Director of Apeejay Institute of Technology, Deval Rajwanshi said, “This year the convention is called Paarthiv, which is a Hindi-Sanskrit origin word, used to describe architects as earthlings. Literally meaning “Of the Earth”, this is a great word to describe architects and architecture. Zonal Nasa is a great platform for all the budding architectures to learn from the experts as well as broaden their architectural wisdom.”
