Apples's iPad is gaining momentum. Apple's iPad crossed the million mark. In just 28 days of its launch, it touched the million mark. California based Apple said that 12 million applications and 1.5 million digital books have been downloaded.

Cupertino, California based company announced that 12 million applications and 1.5 million digital books have been downloaded in these 28 days. Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO and co-founder, said in a statement that, “ one million iPad's in 28 days is less than half of the 74 days it took to achieve this mile stone with iPhone”
He further said that, “demand continue to exceed supply.” The waiting time for iPad delivery in US is five to seven days. As per market predictions, the sale of iPad will be more that five million in this financial year. Friday launch of 3G version already sold 300,000 units. The selling figure of iPad indicate that finally Tablet category is catching up with the people. Well, it is just with iPad or all such product.
Window 7 based based HP slate is going to be launched any time this year. This was show cased at Electronic show in January.
But it would be too late for them to catch up with iPad. The HP and MS collaboration clearly indicates that Tablet category is not a passing fad.
