Apple iPhone 5 gets taller and lighter

'The biggest thing to happen to iPhone since iPhone' - this is what Apple has been calling its launch of much talked about and famed iPhone5. Though analysts have unanimously agreed that the latest version is the best iPhone yet but they have maintained that it 'isn't extraordinary'.

LONG BEFORE its release on September 12, the iPhone 5 had been making news in the gadget world all around the globe. Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple at the launch of the new phone emphasized on the fact that the Apple phone has not been stronger than this version. In spite of the fact that the iPhone 5 will cost the same as iPhone 4S yet there are a number of prominent changes.

The casing of the phone is that of glass and aluminium and it is also the thinnest iPhone so far which is just 7.6mm. The camera is of 8 megapixel along with 28 megapixel panoramic shots. Although the width of the phone remains same as the previous model but it is taller this time. It will be available in both black and white from September 21. The handset is equipped with the latest Apple A6 chip, which is famed to be twice as fast as the previous version but 22 percent smaller.

The model also boasts of 8 hours of 3G talk time and 225 hour of standby time as was reported by Mail Online. Funnily this time the makers have named a new and evolved version of the connector as Lightning. With their new iOS the new set will not take the help of the Google maps anymore.

In spite of all the wonderful changes that the developers have made this time around, to stay in the game, they are facing stiff competition from Samsung Galaxy S III, Nokia Lumia 920 and Motorola Droid RAZR HD. Apple has 4 inches screen size as all the other phones are bigger than that. Resolution wise too Apple is behind other phones as it is offering 1,136 x 640 resolution while other smartphones have higher resolution.

When it comes to camera and the storage capacity, all the phones are in similar footing with 8 megapixel cameras and 16GB storage. Apple has its own operating system iOS, which is one of the favourites among gadget fanatics but Android phones are also not less popular. Nokia is trying to better their case by installing Windows. However the most important thing, which is the price of the phone differs a lot. The Apple costs $199 for 16GB while Samsung galaxy $99.99 + $35.
