Apple issues iPhone OS 3.1.3 version security update
The iPhone OS 3.1.3 update for the Apple iPhone and Apple iPod touch will fix security issues that can allow attackers to control it remotely, allow them to run codes, access malicious FTP server or even bypass passcodes and access data.

SOFTWARE GIANT Apple has released a 3.1.3 version of iPhone OS software for the Apple iPhone and Apple iPod touch on Tuesday, February 2, to plug at least five holes that could become security issues with the software, as well as improving accuracy of reported battery level on the Apple iPhone 3G device.

The iPhone OS 3.1.3 update relates to security issues with CoreAudio, ImageIO, Recovery Mode and WebKit. It also resolves an issue where certain applications, using the Japanese Kana Keyboard crash on the Apple iPhone.

The update can be downloaded by users of Apple iPhone and Apple iPod touch on iTunes. This is the third uppdate for the software, after the second came in October 2009, which caused the device to not work after it was put in sleep mode and interupt cellular network services.

The iPhone OS 3.1.3 update patch has taken care of issues which allowed attackers earlier to control the device from a remote location, allowing them to run codes on it, access a malicious FTP server or even bypass the passcode for a locked device and access its data.
