You might think that food products such as Apples, Blackberries, Watermelon, Mangoes etc are good to eat, but for many they create gas build up in the stomach as well as the small intestines, which causes blotting, diarrhea, puffy belly and other digestive issues. Let's look at these food products in brief.
Apples – Apples will be a problem for those who are suffering from sugar malabsorption, because when the natural sugar is unable to absorb in the body, it leads to bloating, diarrhea and other digestive issues.
Blackberries – Blackberries are rich in polyols, a main component in sugar substitutes, which is usually blamed for abdominal distress. Polyols normally hang around the digestive system for a long time and are never absorbed completely.
Watermelon – Watermelon is sweet and refreshing but could be the sneaky cause of a stomach blot. Watermelon is also high in fruit sugar (fructose), which is often incompletely absorbed by our gastro intestine system, which leads to gastric problem. Expert estimate, that one in three people suffer from fruit sugar malabsorption.
Mangoes – Mango is one fruit that contains more sugar than glucose, it imbalances the fruit sugar to be absorbed by our body. And it causes bloating and other stomach problems.
Snow peas – Snow peas contains galactic-oligo-saccharides, a chain of sugar that is hard to digest and causes bloating. It also contains fructans and are high in polyols, which are often partially absorbed by the body.
Plums – Plums are packed with polyols, often called sugar alcohol because of their structure and because they are fermented by gut bacteria, which leads to problem like bloating.
Veggies with strong flavour – Vegetables like garlic, onions, shallots, and leeks are high in fructanes, a kind of fibers which consists mostly the fructose molecules. Human body lacks the enzyme, which breaks down fructanes and hence it cannot be completely digested, leading to gut problems.
