The Cupertino California based company Apple sold a record 20 million of the iPhone 4 devices in the second quarter in 2011, and a recent survey suggested iPhone 5 sales are likely to cross that of iPhone 4.
THE CUPERTINO California based Apple Inc. is expected to launch its much awaited iPhone 5 at Apple's headquarters during a press event on October 4. It is also said that Apple will launch iPhone 4S or both in the media event. Apple has sent out invites to selected reporters and media professional for the press event through an e-mail, saying “Let’s talk iPhone”, along with four iOS icons depicting the date, time and location of the venue.

The October 4 event will be Apple's first media event after Steve Jobs resigned from CEO's post and the media event is likely to be hosted by the new Chief Executive Officer of Apple Inc., Tim Cook.
iPhone 5 is likely to have a new design, bigger display, 3D Display, processor, camera improvements etc. It will also have possible to 1GB RAM and the storage might also increase to 64GB. It is also possible that the iPhone 5 will work on iOS 5 that was released in the WWDC held this June. Rumors for the fifth generation iPhone involve an 8-megapixel camera, longer battery life, without home button, full HD video recording, HDMI output, and support both GSM and CDMA networks and incorporate some new iOS 5 features.
Apple launched its iPhone 4 fifteen months back in June 2010, and after it missed to its traditional iPhone release schedule in the summer, the launch of iPhone 5 has been much talked about in recent months.
