Apple sues accessory makers, says they are damaging
Apple earns a royalty of around 20-25% from such brands which are licenced under 'Made for iPod' program. Unauthorized vendors are not only giving economic setback to Apple but also violate many of the Apple's patents.
AS THE markets are flooded with new accessories every single day which claims compatibility with Apple products, Apple has moved to court to sue some of them who are affecting and damaging the premium Apple products.The suit cited a user complaint which stated that a battery charger actually drained the battery rather than replenishing its charge.
Apple earns a royalty of around 20-25% from such brands which are licenced under “Made for iPod” program. Unauthorized vendors are not only giving economic setback to Apple but also violate many of the Apple’s patents. And as the accessories are for Apple, so if they go bad after their use, the liability is back on Apple to mend the devices.
The suit names Accstation, Boxware Corporation, Crazyondigital, Eforcity Corporation, Everydaysource, Itrimming, and United Integral, and could expand to include twenty additional companies.
