A.R. Rahman creates history after being nominated for Golden Globe awards for the second time post his double Oscar win in 2009 for the movie 127 Hours directed by Danny Boyle.
POST HIS twin Oscar victory in 2009, ace music composer A.R. Rahman struck gold again when his name featured in the Golden Globe nominations for the movie 127 Hours directed by Danny Boyle. Post his nomination, Rahman is in the fray for winning his second Golden Globe in the Best Original Score category. Rahman will be competing against Alexandre Desplat for The King's Speech, Danny Elfman for Alice in Wonderland, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for The Social Network and Hans Zimmer for Inception.
The 44- year old musical genius had won his first Golden Globe for Slumdog Millionaire which was also directed by Danny Boyle and launched Rahman on the global platform. Upon his nomination, an elated Rahman said that it's been a very stressful year with touring and personal problems like his daughter having surgery and then doing the score. He also said that it is definitely a relief to get this nomination which he will thoroughly enjoy.The film stars James Franco, which portrays the life of mountaineer Aron Ralston, who had to cut off his arm to free himself from a boulder after being trapped for more than five days. The music as well as the background score had received rave reviews for its "haunting tracks" and "wonderful crescendos." The soundtrack also includes 'If I Rise' in which Rahman had collaborated with American popstar Dido.
