Are we happy post independence?
Leaders like MK Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, JN Nehru and others dreamt of a free India where people would live in peace and harmony. They died while fighting for India's independence and now some protagonist are trying to divide the country.
INDIA IS known for its democracy and diversity. It is a country where we enjoy lots of rights and equality along with its secularism. We are divided into religion, class, communities and languages but our heart speaks the common language of humanity. We celebrate a number of festivals in different states. Whether a person is a Hindu, Muslim, Sikh or a Christian we all abide by the customs. The festival of light ie ’Deepavali’ is celebrated by all communities. When ’Eid’ emerges we reciprocate with sheer brotherhood. Before the partition we all were same and treated each other like brothers. It gave us immense pleasure to mix up with other groups and exchange ideas.

However, a question does arises in everybody’s mind. Are we happy after independence? The most common answer everyone would come up with is a big ’No’! India is developing at a rapid pace, lots of technological advancement has taken place and Multi National Companies (MNCS) are being set up every now and then. We may have improved a lot in this sense. But there are many other issues, post independence, which is crippling the country at present like terrorism, regionalism etc.

Terrorism is gradually spreading like a wildfire and we are unable to deal with this menace. Why is there a demand for separate regions from different communities where we had once lived like one? If such demands keep arising then the entire country will be divided into minor states where only the people of that particular region will be allowed to stay. There will be loss of employment, infrastructure along with economic and financial loss. The government will have to spend more money on these states to help them survive. There will be an emotional detachment among people and communal harmony will be distorted.

Leaders like MK Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, JN Nehru and others dreamt of a free India where people would live in perfect peace and harmony. They died while fighting for India’s independence and now we are trying to divide the country. There are however, some nationalists and patriots amongst us and we should not blame them because of some particular group’s behaviour. We have a lot more serious issue to think about rather than demanding for a separate state.

At last I would like to add that regions or community would not dominate the lives of Indians. We will try to improve our living standards,we will fight against poverty, class struggle, sex discrimination and illiteracy. We will search for ways to have a developed India rather than applying methods to grab a particular state.

2008 I appreciate your devotion but history is history!! You can try to fabricate history but cannot stray away from the hard facts. What about the brutal massacares that took place at the time of partition of India, one of the greatest misery of human history, who was responsible? When you give the credit of freeing India to Mr. Gandhi, please tell me what was the position of the British after second world war. When the entire British army was defeated by handful of POWs of the Indian Army who revolted in Netaji's leadership (Imphal) and Britishers had to retreat. If at that time Indian army would have revolted there was no shelter for the British. Only 300 British were ruling India at that time. More than 50% of the British population had perished in the secod world war. Not just the Britishers who were unable to keep their colonies but other colonizers as well. Second world war was the main reason that abolished almost all colonization from the world. In Asia, East and west Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Burma, Singapore, Maldieves were all under British India. How they got their freedom? Was it Gandhi or his Ahimsha that freed them as well? Is it not a mockery? Please do not fabricate the history in the way Nehru did after he got Swaraj from the British. Kindly please quote the treaty signed between the British and the domanian of India and Pakistan in 1947 which granted "swaraj" NOT independence.Regardig Mr. Chruchill's remarks kindly consult the Britsh government's archives.Gandhi was an advocate of Swaraj not Independance. Please show any document where he demands full freedom. All he wanted was the ability of self-rule uder British empire
The Union of India is an accident.India is a plural society and is not homogenous.Discrimination if rife in India and India is a false fabric.North Indians are are people of foreign origin and are of non dravidian extract.Noerth Indians are Not Indians .They are only Indians by natuinality and not by bloodline. Shiv Shena stand of regionalism is right.India is the europe of the east and casteism is discreetly hidden. All an indian need is to read the weelky matrimonials. India is a false marriage and the breakup of India modeled after Europe would serve the overall good of India .But this will take time and will happen when the old guard politcians have died out .Until then Indias will have to put up with this forced marriage .
