Many people deem the New Year eve till the end of the month of January as the time to reflect on the personal life of the year gone by, and the changes they need to make through a resolution. But studies prove that a very insignificant number of such people are able to keep the resolution due to mental inertia, and lack of will. Consequently, most people often make the same New Year resolutions each year.
Some of most common New Year resolutions are: lose weight, exercise more, drink less alcohol, cut down or quit smoking, save more money, get rich and famous, improve career, get a better education, learn something new, improve self, become more organized, reduce stress, manage time, be more independent, watch less television, play fewer video games, lesser time on social networking, take a trip, volunteer to help others, give to charity, get along better with people, and make new friends.
Many psychologists suggest that it is always good to make up one's mind in the beginning of every year with new hopes and enthusiasm for newer things and improve things compared to the last year. This mental exercise helps us to forget the past with a resolve for a new start, and hone new skills.
So, make a new promise to yourself this January. It is always worthwhile to plan ahead in 2013. Hope, the New Year resolution this time will help you make a better person!
