Are you wearing the right colour today?
Dark blue commands respect and is therefore used for Police and other uniforms. Green is relaxing and is used on the walls of hospitals and even the emulsion we paint on our living room walls can effect our moods. Confused what we are talking about?
DO YOU ever think about the colour you wear for the day ? How light, how dark it is? Do you think colours can change our attitude, our mind set , can affect our mood, our interest ? If you are scratching your head to find the answer, then the answer is: Yes they do. Over the last few years, extensive scientific research has been carried out into the psychology of colour. It is logical to assume that what we see, especially colour, can affect the systems of the body. Psychologists and physiologists believe this to be true and are investigating exactly what each colour can do to our bodies.
 
Though the colours are viewed and perceived differently by different culture. Where in American culture, black has long been associated with death, while white is believed to signify life and purity. In the Orient, however, white is the traditional colour of mourning. A very important aspect of our visual experience is colour.
Like red is the warmest of all colours. Put some red in your life when you want:
  • increased enthusiasm and interest
more energy
  • action and confidence to go after your dreams
  • protection from fears and anxieties
  • Green is the colour of nature, fertility, life. Grass green is the most restful colour. Green symbolises self-respect and well being. Green is the colour of balance. It also means learning, growth and harmony. Put some green in your life when you want:
    • a new state of balance
    • feel a need for change or growth
    • freedom to pursue new ideas
    • protection from fears and anxieties connected with the demands of others
    Blue is the coolest colour - the colour of the sky, ocean, sleep, twilight. Blue gives a feeling of distance. Put some blue in your life when you want:
    • calm and relaxation to counteract chaos or agitation
    • to open the flow of communication
    • to broaden your perspective in learning new information
    • solitude and peace
    As for yellow, people who are blind to other colours can usually see yellow. Yellow is full of creativity and intellectual energy. Always use yellow note pads. Put some yellow in your life when you want:
    • clarity for decision-making
    • relief from 'burnout', panic, nervousness, exhaustion
    • sharper memory and concentration skills
    • protection from lethargy and depression during dull weather
    People who prefer brown are often conventional and orderly. The negative meaning of brown can be a repressed personality or a lazy person. Brown is the colour of the earth and is associated with the material side of life. Put some brown in your life when you want:
    • a solid wholesome feeling
    • to blend with the background
    • a connection with natural earth and the stability this brings
    • orderliness and convention
    So everything in life convey some meaning, its for us to realise its importance and to understand the message, use it accordingly. Lets all try out and feel the difference. Our life with colours.
