Arlington National Cemetery: Traditions of the Memorial Day
Arlington National Cemetery and United States Soldiers' and Airmen's Home National Cemetery are administered by the Department of the Army. A national moment of remembrance takes place at 3 pm local time.
VICE PRESIDENT Joe Biden honored the Fallen at Arlington National Cemetery and paid his tribute the military personnel who sacrificed their lives for the American cause as a part of the Memorial Day ceremonies across the United States. Biden said that the memorial day celebrations were a mix of both sorrow and pride.
 
In his address, Joe Biden added that Americans should take pride in the lives of their military men for the service they extended towards American nation by fighting for them. Meanwhile, President Obama honored the service members at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
 
Arlington National Cemetery and United States Soldiers' and Airmen's Home National Cemetery are administered by the Department of the Army. The Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery is the same as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier that stands on top of a hill overlooking Washington, DC. 
 
 A national moment of remembrance takes place at 3 pm local time. Another tradition is to fly the flag of the United States at half-staff  from dawn until noon local time.
